{"id":45866,"date":"2018-09-19T01:21:09","date_gmt":"2018-09-18T19:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=45866"},"modified":"2018-09-19T01:21:09","modified_gmt":"2018-09-18T19:51:09","slug":"legal-services-programme-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/09\/19\/legal-services-programme-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal services programme underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>PASIGHAT, Sep 18:<\/strong> A two-day &#8216;training sessions-cum-orientation programme&#8217; for stakeholders, being organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), got underway here on Tuesday.<br \/>\nOver 100 participants, including principal magistrates, ICDS DDs, CDPOs, legal aid lawyers, Juvenile Justice Board and CWC members, officials of the district child protection unit, special police juvenile unit, and members of local NGO WASE are participating in it.<br \/>\nResource persons for the programme include Delhi SLSA special secretary Geetanjali Goel, International Justice Mission (IJM) advocate Marie Riba, IJM psychologist Elizabeth V Koshy, and IJM&#8217;s director of justice solutions, Saptarshi Biswas.<br \/>\nOn the first day of the programme, APSLSA member secretary Budi Habung underscored the importance of the stakeholders in successful implementation of the child protection act and schemes, while Goel presented an overview of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015, Riba made a PowerPoint presentation on the various aspects of human trafficking and how to tackle it, and Koshy used pictorial depictions to explain trauma and spoke on trauma management.<br \/>\nThe programme also featured an interactive session between the participants and the resource persons.<br \/>\nAmong others, Pasighat Additional District Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Yomge Ado and Yingkiong JMFC Mary Kamsi attended the inaugural programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>LLC opened<\/strong><br \/>\nEarlier, on 17 September, the APSLSA opened the state&#8217;s 10th legal literacy club (LLC) at IGJ government HS school here.<br \/>\n&#8220;(It is) a step towards formal sensitization of legal rights and knowledge among the school-going children, and in line with the NALSA scheme on opening of LLCs in schools and colleges,&#8221; the APSLSA informed.<br \/>\nHabung, who inaugurated the LLC, spoke on the scheme and working of the LLCs in schools and colleges, and urged the students to be part of the club activities in disseminating legal knowledge to the people to help them know their rights.<br \/>\nGoel, who was also present, spoke on the legal rights and duties of students and teachers.<br \/>\nAmong others, the school&#8217;s principal Tatem Taloh and members of the local bar association were present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PASIGHAT, Sep 18: A two-day &#8216;training sessions-cum-orientation programme&#8217; for stakeholders, being organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), got underway here on Tuesday.
