{"id":46084,"date":"2018-09-20T01:28:37","date_gmt":"2018-09-19T19:58:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=46084"},"modified":"2018-09-20T01:28:37","modified_gmt":"2018-09-19T19:58:37","slug":"doctor-scuffles-with-patient-cases-registered-at-ps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/09\/20\/doctor-scuffles-with-patient-cases-registered-at-ps\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctor scuffles with patient, cases registered at PS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Sep 18:<\/strong> A doctor at the West Siang district hospital in Aalo allegedly engaged in a scuffle with a patient and her fianc\u00e9 on the night of 15 September.<br \/>\nSources informed this daily that Dr Geyum Padu was the emergency medical officer on duty on the night when the woman, who was suffering from suspected gastritis pain, went to the hospital to seek treatment.<br \/>\nThe doctor reportedly misbehaved with the patient for disturbing him.<br \/>\nThis led to a heated argument, and the doctor allegedly shoved and pushed the woman, which led to a scuffle between the fianc\u00e9 and the doctor.<br \/>\nThe matter was reported to the police on the same night. However, when the police went to question the doctor, he did not open the door to his room.<br \/>\nReportedly, the doctor arrived at the police station the next morning, made a ruckus during his brief presence there, and left for his private clinic near the hospital.<br \/>\nWhen a police team was sent to the clinic to bring him in for questioning, he reportedly refused to comply and manhandled an officer on duty.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, this daily made several attempts to contact Dr Padu, but his phone numbers were found to be switched off.<br \/>\nSources informed that Dr Padu later managed to obtain a medical certificate stating that he is unfit and has been referred to a hospital in here in the capital.<br \/>\nTwo cases have now been registered against the doctor at the Aalo police station.<br \/>\nStudent organisations in Aalo have also expressed angst at the behaviour of the doctor and sought his arrest at the earliest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter ITANAGAR, Sep 18: A doctor at the West Siang district hospital in Aalo allegedly engaged in a scuffle with a patient and her fianc\u00e9 on the night of 15 September.
