{"id":46442,"date":"2018-09-24T00:52:24","date_gmt":"2018-09-23T19:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=46442"},"modified":"2018-09-24T00:52:24","modified_gmt":"2018-09-23T19:22:24","slug":"state-level-literary-competition-organised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/09\/24\/state-level-literary-competition-organised\/","title":{"rendered":"State level literary competition organised"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAHARLAGUN, Sep 23:<\/strong> Around 20 students representing various districts participated in a state level literary competition conducted by youth wing of the Indigenous Faith &amp; Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) at the Bharat Scouts &amp; Guides training centre here on Sunday.<br \/>\nAddressing the gathering, IFCSAP youth wing president Nabam Ruja informed that the participating delegates were the winners of the district level literary competitions held at all the 23 districts of the state, in which around 80000 students had participated.<br \/>\nIFCSAP general secretary Bai Taba congratulated the participants on winning the district level competitions and urged them to preserve and protect the declining indigenous culture.<br \/>\nOn seeing that the majority of the participating delegates were women, IFCSAP women wing president Maya Murtem amusingly said it was &#8220;the result of women empowerment workshop.&#8221; She urged the young participants to &#8220;free their minds of unwanted thoughts and exploit their capabilities without fear and nervousness.&#8221;<br \/>\nDepartment of Indigenous Affairs (DIA) Chairman Nabam Atum encouraged the participants and urged them to be &#8220;torchbearers of the indigenous culture and faith.&#8221;<br \/>\nFormer IFCSAP president Taba Hare gave several tips on how to improve speaking skills without being nervous. He also advocated gender equality in the society, adding, &#8220;Women with equal status in the society will influence children to be good citizens.&#8221;<br \/>\nSuggesting several good books to the young participants, DIA Director Tayi Taggu urged them to imbibe the reading habit.<br \/>\n&#8220;Only through well of knowledge of different subjects one could speak on any given topic,&#8221; Taggu said to the extempore speech participants.<br \/>\nStating how privileged the young are, the DIA director encouraged them to learn more about the indigenous culture and traditions of the state.<br \/>\nSeveral other speakers, including IFCSAP president Tajom Tassung, also gave tips and suggestions to the participants.<br \/>\nThe participants took part in essay and extempore speech competitions, which were judged by the AVP&#8217;s Papum Pare district unit president Toba Takam, IFSCAP convenor Hage Mobing, and East Arunachal general secretary Nyasam Jongsam.<br \/>\nIn the extempore speech competition, Lukyir Taji from Upper Subansiri district, who scored 234 out of 300 points, stood first; Tanghua Wangsa from Tirap district with 209 stood second; and Bekromlu Pul from East Kameng stood third in position with a score of 205.<br \/>\nThe results of the essay writing competition will be announced after a few days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAHARLAGUN, Sep 23: Around 20 students representing various districts participated in a state level literary competition conducted by youth wing of the Indigenous Faith &amp; Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) at the Bharat Scouts &amp; Guides training centre here on Sunday.
