{"id":46697,"date":"2018-09-26T01:59:18","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T20:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=46697"},"modified":"2018-09-26T01:59:18","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T20:29:18","slug":"first-lady-participates-in-swachhata-hi-seva-prog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/09\/26\/first-lady-participates-in-swachhata-hi-seva-prog\/","title":{"rendered":"First lady participates in &#8216;Swachhata Hi Seva&#8217; prog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>YUPIA, Sep 25:<\/strong> First lady Neelam Mishra called upon the people, particularly the children and youths, to be involved in the Swachh Bharat Mission to realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi.<br \/>\nParticipating in a &#8216;health, hygiene and cleanliness programme&#8217; as part of the Raj Bhavan&#8217;s &#8216;Swachhata Hi Seva&#8217; campaign at the government upper primary school here on Tuesday, Mishra said the children had a special responsibility to keep their classrooms, school compound, sector roads and public places clean.<br \/>\n&#8220;Every citizen must avoid the use of plastic bags and one should use recycled and eco-friendly products,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\nRequesting the teachers and guardians to guide the children towards cleanliness, she also emphasized on personal hygiene, particularly hand washing, and public hygiene.<br \/>\nThe first lady planted a sapling in the school&#8217;s premises, and advised the students to do the same to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. She also informed the gathering about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Chief Minister Aarogya Arunachal Yojana.<br \/>\nYupia ADC T Budung observed that &#8220;the message of Swachh Bharat would go far and wide&#8221; with the involvement of the first lady, and Papum Pare DMO Dr Subu Tasso Kampu briefed the first lady on healthcare programmes.<br \/>\nMishra also gave away the prizes to the winners of the painting and essay writing competitions on the topics &#8216;Swachh Bharat&#8217; and &#8216;Swachhata Hi Seva&#8217; which were earlier conducted at the initiative of the Raj Bhavan.<br \/>\nNguba Manung received the first prize in the painting competition, while Rejum Riba and Master Yullo Bagang received the second and third prizes, respectively. Nguba Laruia received the first prize in the essay writing competition, and Diganta Deka and Taba Tai received the second and third prizes, respectively.<br \/>\nAmong others, Papum Pare SP Tumme Amo and DDSE ST Zera were present on the occasion.<br \/>\nCleanliness drives conducted<br \/>\nIn Yingkiong, government employees, students, villagers, panchayat members, shopkeepers and others participated in a cleanliness drive organised there by the Upper Siang district administration on Tuesday as part of the ongoing &#8216;Swachhata Hi Seva&#8217; campaign.<br \/>\nThe participants cleaned up the markets, government, semi-government, private and NGO offices, and schools in Yingkiong, besides Simong East, Simong West-I &amp; II, Upper Karko, Lower Karko and Gette villages.<br \/>\nIn Changlang, a cleanliness &#8216;shramdaan&#8217; was conducted jointly by Rang-Frah Government College (RFGC) and the DUDA at the college premises here as part of the &#8216;Swatchata Hi Seva&#8217; campaign.<br \/>\nUD Deputy Director Nich Jacob advised the students on values of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation, and RFGC Principal Dr K Megu commended the DUDA for its initiative and for providing logistic support to the college.<br \/>\nThe event was earlier flagged off by MLA Tesam Pongte and DC RK Sharma on 15 September.
