{"id":47060,"date":"2018-09-29T01:54:08","date_gmt":"2018-09-28T20:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=47060"},"modified":"2018-09-29T01:54:08","modified_gmt":"2018-09-28T20:24:08","slug":"tourism-day-celebrated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/09\/29\/tourism-day-celebrated\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourism Day celebrated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Sep 28:<\/strong> The tourism department celebrated World Tourism Day across the state by organizing various tourism promotional activities and highlighting the state&#8217;s tourism potential.<br \/>\nIn Tawang, District Tourism Officer Tsering Dekey spoke to students about the places of tourists&#8217; interest as well as the tourism potential of the district and the state.<br \/>\nEssay, drawing and quiz competitions related to tourism were conducted among the students of the government ME school (GMES) Khremethang to mark the day. A cleanliness drive was also organized, which was participated in by the monks of the Tawang monastery, villagers of Shyo, students of GMES Khremethang and Shyo, and tourism officials.<br \/>\nTourism Day was also observed at different tourist locations in West Siang, Lower Siang, and Shi-Yomi districts on 27 September.<br \/>\nAt Malinithan in Likabali, a cleanliness drive was conducted, and a signage was set up at Akashi Ganga. Besides government officials and members of the public, more than 200 students participated in a cleanliness drive conducted on the occasion.<br \/>\nOfficials of the West Siang tourism department and members of the Tato Eco-Tourism and Cultural Society (TECS) planted plant ornamental trees and set up TECS signboards in Tato, while in Mechuka the word &#8216;Menchukha&#8217; was cleaned up and painted by the department in collaboration with the Mechukha Ecotourism and Cultural Society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Sep 28: The tourism department celebrated World Tourism Day across the state by organizing various tourism promotional activities and highlighting the state&#8217;s tourism potential.
