{"id":47426,"date":"2018-10-02T02:04:01","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T20:34:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=47426"},"modified":"2018-10-02T02:04:01","modified_gmt":"2018-10-01T20:34:01","slug":"jnc-teachers-students-build-embankment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/10\/02\/jnc-teachers-students-build-embankment\/","title":{"rendered":"JNC teachers, students build embankment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>PASIGHAT, Oct 1:<\/strong> The Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) unit of the Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers&#8217; Association on Sunday undertook a relief mission in aid of the flood ravaged villages of Borguli and Seram.<br \/>\nFaculty members and students of the college, along with NCC and NSS volunteers and others built a 200-metre-long embankment beside the Siang river on the outskirt of Borguli, using 2000 sandbags, to prevent further soil erosion.<br \/>\nThey also donated Rs 10,000 to Borguli and Rs 30,000 to Seram village to help the affected villagers.<br \/>\nThe JNC Alumni Association also extended a helping hand to the Borguli villagers by donating 12 shovels and 12 hoes for use in building flood-control embankments.<br \/>\nThe Siang Affected Village Forum, led by IPR Director Obang Tayeng, also donated money for taking up anti-erosion measures in villages in Mebo.
