{"id":48268,"date":"2018-10-10T01:47:27","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T20:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=48268"},"modified":"2018-10-10T01:47:27","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T20:17:27","slug":"contribute-to-propagation-of-traditional-loin-looms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/10\/10\/contribute-to-propagation-of-traditional-loin-looms\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Contribute to propagation of traditional loin looms&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Oct 9:<\/strong> Governor BD Mishra&#8217;s wife, Neelam Misra, called upon entrepreneurs and socially well-established women to contribute to the preservation and propagation of the state&#8217;s traditional loin looms.<br \/>\nInteracting with loin loom weavers from various tribes of the state at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, Misra said weaving must be carried out &#8220;as an extension of our traditions and rendering of help to economically weaker ladies of our society.&#8221;<br \/>\nMisra, who has been practicing traditional loin loom weaving as a hobby, said weaving connects her to Arunachalee women in every nook and corner of the state.<br \/>\n&#8220;The designs and patterns of Arunachalee traditional weaving are unique, glamorous, and exclusive, which must be preserved,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\nOfficers from the textiles &amp; handicrafts department, along with invitees from other organizations, including the ITBP, attended the meeting and planned a future course of action to strive towards self-reliance and self-employment.<br \/>\nThe documentary on traditional weaving, titled Bunai Ki Rangin Duniya &#8211; Loin Loom Weaving, conceptualized by Misra, was also screened. The documentary aims to promote traditional weaving in the state.
