{"id":48393,"date":"2018-10-11T01:22:34","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T19:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=48393"},"modified":"2018-10-11T01:22:34","modified_gmt":"2018-10-10T19:52:34","slug":"three-officials-from-arunachal-receive-national-poshan-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/10\/11\/three-officials-from-arunachal-receive-national-poshan-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Three officials from Arunachal receive National Poshan Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NEW DELHI, Oct 10:<\/strong> Three frontline officials from Arunachal Pradesh received National Poshan Awards instituted by the Ministry of Women &amp; Child Development.<br \/>\nChild Development Project Officers (CDPOs) Mailong Taku Moyong of Mebo ICDS Project in East Siang district and Shilakani Namshum of Lekang ICDS Project in Namsai district were conferred with block level leadership awards.<br \/>\nSupervisor Nuri Elapra of Tezu ICDS Project in Lohit district was conferred with Individual Excellence\/Field Level Functionary Award.<br \/>\nThe awards were presented to them in a function held here on Wednesday.<br \/>\nThe awards were given in recognition of their exemplary performance during the Nutrition Month and also to acknowledge the progress made by the state in implementing &#8216;Poshan Maah&#8217; under &#8216;Poshan Abhiyaan.&#8217;<br \/>\nEarlier, the ministry had asked the states and Union territories to short-list work of frontline functionaries, who have worked to make &#8216;Poshan Maah&#8217; a success.<br \/>\nCDPO Mailong Taku Moyong, 51, put in extra efforts in the campaign for the Poshan Abhiyaan in her block and in the district of East Siang. She organized recipe competition among the village women to create awareness on nutrition.<br \/>\nShe had been instrumental in crafting song for Poshan Abhiyaan in Adi language which was recorded and played in all the events during Poshan Maah celebration.<br \/>\nShe was also part of Radio talk-shows in Hindi and local language aired through All India Radio Pasighat, giving awareness on nutrition.<br \/>\nCDPO Shilakani Namshum, 53, showed exemplary leadership for the celebration of the national nutrition month.<br \/>\nShe organised various programs on nutrition and health along with Departments of Health, Education, PHED &amp; WS and district administration.<br \/>\nShe also organized one of the biggest poshan melas in the state, wherein traditional local foods were displayed by village women. She guided Anganwadi children in making skits and plays using vegetable characters and explaining the source of vitamins for healthy body.<br \/>\nSupervisor Nuri Elapra organized 19 activities along with line departments covering all the Anganwadi centres under Tezu ICDS project.<br \/>\nScreening for anemia, demonstration on hand washing techniques, weight measurement of pregnant women and children were some of the activities she had taken up.<br \/>\nShe was also appreciated for innovative use of technology, like using portable &#8216;Bluetooth speakers&#8217; to play messages on nutrition and counsel the pregnant and lactating women during house to house visit campaign.<br \/>\nThe month of September was celebrated across the 36 states and Union Territories as &#8216;Rashtriya Poshan Maah&#8217; under &#8216;Poshan Abhiyaan&#8217;, the National Nutrition Mission which aims to bring down stunting of children in the age group of 0-6 years from 38.4 per cent to 25 per cent by 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI, Oct 10: Three frontline officials from Arunachal Pradesh received National Poshan Awards instituted by the Ministry of Women &amp; Child Development.
