{"id":51304,"date":"2018-11-09T00:09:50","date_gmt":"2018-11-08T18:39:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=51304"},"modified":"2018-11-09T00:09:50","modified_gmt":"2018-11-08T18:39:50","slug":"diwali-celebrated-at-bumla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/11\/09\/diwali-celebrated-at-bumla\/","title":{"rendered":"Diwali celebrated at Bumla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>BUMLA, Nov 8:<\/strong> A ceremonial border personnel meeting (BPM) &#8211; the last of 2018 &#8211; between the armies of India and China was organised here by the Indian Army on Wednesday to celebrate Diwali.<br \/>\nThe delegations, led by Col Prasenjit Kar from the Indian side and Col Yang Zi Ming from the Chinese side, exchanged greetings in a sign of improving military-to-military ties on the ground level.<br \/>\nThe meeting began with the hoisting of the national flags, lighting of the traditional Diwali diyas, and the ceremonial address.<br \/>\nBoth sides highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility along border areas, besides ensuring the sanctity of the LAC. The delegation leaders emphasized the need to continuously improve relations at the ground level in order to foster cordial ties between the two great nations of the region.<br \/>\nThe highlights of the BPM were colourful performances by cultural troupes.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Governor BD Mishra and his wife Neelam Misra celebrated Diwali at the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar with jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.<br \/>\nThe governor also celebrated Diwali with the officials and staff of Raj Bhavan.
