{"id":51312,"date":"2018-11-09T00:11:04","date_gmt":"2018-11-08T18:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=51312"},"modified":"2018-11-09T00:11:04","modified_gmt":"2018-11-08T18:41:04","slug":"police-arrest-jewel-thief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/11\/09\/police-arrest-jewel-thief\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest jewel thief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>[Indrajit Tingwa]<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>BORDUMSA, Nov 8:<\/strong> The police here in Changlang district arrested one Sanjay Mandal (20) on Wednesday for stealing jewels worth Rs 26.56 lakhs from Routing Singpho, wife of former minister CC Singpho.<br \/>\nReportedly, in September, when Routing was in Itanagar, Mandal, who worked as her household help, stole her jewels, including gold, silver, valuable gems, and traditional Singpho beads, amounting to Rs 26.56 lakhs.<br \/>\nThe case was reported to Miao SDPO Tasi Darang, and Bordumsa police station Inspector T Langching registered a case under Section 381\/461 IPC and started investigation.<br \/>\nThe police have reportedly managed to recover about 80 percent of the jewels, and have handed them over to the owner.<br \/>\nDuring the course of the investigation, it came to light that the stolen jewels were sold to local jewellers and some individuals in Bordumsa.<br \/>\nWhile efforts are on to recover the remaining jewels, the accused has been taken in custody and detained for further investigation.<br \/>\nThe entire case was supervised by Changlang SP JK Lego.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Indrajit Tingwa] BORDUMSA, Nov 8: The police here in Changlang district arrested one Sanjay Mandal (20) on Wednesday for stealing jewels worth Rs 26.56 lakhs from Routing Singpho, wife of former minister CC Singpho.
