The chief minister was responding to a private-member resolution moved by BJP MLA Gabriel Denwang Wangsu in the state Assembly.<br \/>\n&#8220;We will revisit the state industrial policy, involve experts and invite all the elected representatives to forward suggestions so that a comprehensive policy could be formulated which will be investor-friendly,&#8221; Khandu said.<br \/>\nThe CM said that a provision of Rs 15 crore was made in the 2017-18 State Budget for setting up of industrial units in the foothill areas, and the proposal is pending with the Committee of Secretaries.<br \/>\nSetting up of industrial estates in the foothill areas would encourage micro, small and medium industries and minimise unemployment problem, he said.<br \/>\nInforming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given priority on the development of the North East region, including Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister\u00a0 hoped\u00a0 \u00a0implementation of\u00a0 Act East Policy along with improved connectivity will bring rapid economic development in the\u00a0 state.<br \/>\nHe further informed that state government has also sent a proposal to the NITI Aayog for organising a seminar on &#8216;Act East Policy&#8217;\u00a0 in the\u00a0 state\u00a0 soon.<br \/>\nEarlier while moving the resolution, Wangsu urged the state government to take steps to facilitate establishment of industrial estates in foothill areas of the state.<br \/>\nDespite enormous potentials,\u00a0 the industrial policy in the\u00a0 state has miserably failed to give us desire results, he said.<br \/>\nParticipating in the discussion, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, while highlighting various problems in the way of industrial development in the state including\u00a0 lack of\u00a0 \u00a0proper land policy, connectivity and marketing facilities,\u00a0 informed the\u00a0 house that\u00a0 Govt is going to introduce a comprehensive industrial\u00a0 policy.<br \/>\nHe also highlighted\u00a0 the\u00a0 benefit that may be reaped from the\u00a0 Act East Policy.<br \/>\nFormer Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that success of\u00a0 state\u00a0 \u00a0industrial policy is depend on the\u00a0 policy of the\u00a0 central Govt.<br \/>\nHe urged the state Govt to approach the\u00a0 Centre for continuation of subsidy scheme under North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP), 2007.<br \/>\nTuki also\u00a0 \u00a0emphasized on conducive atmosphere in the state\u00a0 to woo\u00a0 the investors.<br \/>\nWhile supporting the resolution, Opposition leader Takam Pario\u00a0 urged the\u00a0 Govt\u00a0 to\u00a0 formulate proper plan\u00a0 for the investors.
