{"id":53000,"date":"2018-11-30T02:16:35","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T20:46:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=53000"},"modified":"2018-11-30T02:16:35","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T20:46:35","slug":"bro-arunachal-violating-labour-laws-says-labour-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/11\/30\/bro-arunachal-violating-labour-laws-says-labour-ministry\/","title":{"rendered":"BRO, Arunachal violating labour laws, says Labour Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Nov 29:<\/strong> Border Roads Organisation in Arunachal Pradesh has been found violating various labour welfare laws.<br \/>\nThe Minister for Labour and employment, Santosh Kumar Gangwar made these revelations in a letter to the Minister of Defence Nirmala Sitharaman.<br \/>\nGangwar said that a team constituted by the Ministry conducted intensive checks of the various establishments of Border Road Organisation in Tawang area which observed the violation of provision of BOCW Act. 1996, Equal Remuneration Act, 1976, Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 and Maternity Benefit Act 1961 pertaining to health, welfare, safety facilities and bonus payable to the workers.<br \/>\nGangwar requested the Defence Ministry to direct the Border Road Organization for immediate action so that labourers\/ workers working under inhospitable conditions could get their statutory benefits and lead a dignified life while working for the organization.<br \/>\nOn Nov 22, the BRO Labourer Union was on hunger strike in Delhi to protest against non-implementation of various provisions of the labour laws.<br \/>\nThe chief minister Pema Khandu had earlier written to the centre seeking welfare measure for the labourers working under BRO and implementation of labour laws.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter ITANAGAR, Nov 29: Border Roads Organisation in Arunachal Pradesh has been found violating various labour welfare laws.
