{"id":54113,"date":"2018-12-09T01:51:27","date_gmt":"2018-12-08T20:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=54113"},"modified":"2018-12-09T01:51:27","modified_gmt":"2018-12-08T20:21:27","slug":"unspoken-words-come-alive-at-poetry-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/12\/09\/unspoken-words-come-alive-at-poetry-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Unspoken words come alive at poetry meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>[ Nellie N Manpoong ]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAHARLAGUN, Dec 8:<\/strong> With the vision of keeping the essence of poetry alive in the state, The Vivid Project (TVP), which bears the tagline, &#8216;The unspoken words&#8217;, held its year-end poetry meet at a city caf\u00e9 here on Saturday.<br \/>\nOver 17 amateur poets participated in the meet and recited their pieces on a range of topics, which included, but were not limited to, identity crisis, women empowerment, relationships and social issues.<br \/>\nParticipants Zeblun Messar and Juno Pingam read out their pieces on gender and identity, while 14-year-old Horming Mangfi, who was the youngest participant, recited his piece, &#8216;World around me&#8217;.<br \/>\nWhile Mudang Onju put her experiences on body shaming into a lyrical poem, Beauty Kena took inspiration from a friend&#8217;s life for her piece.<br \/>\nThe evening also saw the recitation of a few Hindi poems by Amal Namboothiri, Pinkey Taring, and others.<br \/>\nSeveral other participants also recited their poems and engaged in an interaction with the audience.<br \/>\nSpeaking to this daily, TVP director Karry Padu said new-age poetry, art and literature are still fairly new concepts to the state, and that such events are a platform for the writing community to grow and bring about a literary revolution.<br \/>\nOn whether there has been any significant change in the past year, Padu said: &#8220;Earlier, we had more listeners and very few speakers.
