{"id":54223,"date":"2018-12-10T01:11:04","date_gmt":"2018-12-09T19:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=54223"},"modified":"2018-12-10T01:11:04","modified_gmt":"2018-12-09T19:41:04","slug":"local-climbers-scale-mt-eko-dumbing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/12\/10\/local-climbers-scale-mt-eko-dumbing\/","title":{"rendered":"Local climbers scale Mt Eko Dumbing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Dec 9:<\/strong> Six local mountaineers scaled the unclimbed Mt Eko Dumbing, sitting at 13690 ft, in Upper Siang district.<br \/>\nLed by Everester Kishon Tekseng, the climbers reached the peak&#8217;s apex on 4 December at 4.20 pm after more than 13 hours of nonstop climbing from the base camp, informed KR Meetei, the adventure cell in-charge at the youth affairs directorate.<br \/>\nThe Alpine style expedition was organized by the directorate under the mission &#8216;Exploration of Arunachal Mountains&#8217;. The expedition had been flagged off by Yingkiong ADC Tamik Talom on 26 November.<br \/>\nAll the mountaineers were trained at Dirang (West Kameng)-based National Institute of Mountaineering &amp; Allied Sports, under the sponsorship of the youth affairs department.<br \/>\n&#8220;The department will conduct more such expeditions in the future, engaging local trained mountaineers to explore the virgin mountains of the state,&#8221; Meetei said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Dec 9: Six local mountaineers scaled the unclimbed Mt Eko Dumbing, sitting at 13690 ft, in Upper Siang district.
