{"id":54437,"date":"2018-12-12T02:12:23","date_gmt":"2018-12-11T20:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=54437"},"modified":"2018-12-12T02:12:23","modified_gmt":"2018-12-11T20:42:23","slug":"scientific-beekeeping-trg-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/12\/12\/scientific-beekeeping-trg-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"Scientific beekeeping trg underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAMSAI, Dec 11:<\/strong> Farmers and beekeepers from Lekang, Chowkham, Namsai, Lathoa and Piyong circles of Namsai district are participating in a weeklong training programme on scientific beekeeping which got underway at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here on Tuesday.<br \/>\nAddressing the participants, ADF S Jawal emphasized on taking up scientific beekeeping along with agricultural and horticultural crop production to generate more income.<br \/>\nNamsai KVK Head Dr Debasis Sasmal highlighted the present scenario of the bee industry in the country, and its prospects in the northeastern region.<br \/>\nEast Siang KVK senior scientist Dr M Pathak apprised the participants of the importance of beekeeping and its prospects in agriculture and horticulture crop production.<br \/>\nPlant protection scientist Toge Riba and Drs RK Patidar and Santosh Kumar explained domestication and management of bees, bee economics, etc.<br \/>\nA method demonstration was held for the farmers, during which the Namsai KVK SMS demonstrated and explained the extraction methodology, processing and storage of honey.<br \/>\nThe training is being organized by Pasighat (East Siang)-based College of Horticulture &amp; Forestry in collaboration with the KVK here and the ICAR NEH region&#8217;s Basar (Lepa Rada)-based state centre.<br \/>\nThe training is being imparted under the Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan-II.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAMSAI, Dec 11: Farmers and beekeepers from Lekang, Chowkham, Namsai, Lathoa and Piyong circles of Namsai district are participating in a weeklong training programme on scientific beekeeping which got underway at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here on Tuesday.
