{"id":55209,"date":"2018-12-19T02:02:40","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T20:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=55209"},"modified":"2018-12-19T02:02:43","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T20:32:43","slug":"apsmpb-calls-for-protection-promotion-of-medicinal-plants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/12\/19\/apsmpb-calls-for-protection-promotion-of-medicinal-plants\/","title":{"rendered":"APSMPB calls for protection, promotion of medicinal plants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Dec 18:<\/strong> Arunachal Pradesh State Medicinal Plant Board (APSMPB) Chairman BC Tok has urged stakeholders to collectively shoulder the responsibility of promoting medicinal plants&#8217; conservation, protection and cultivation in the state.<br \/>\nAddressing a meeting of the board at the conference hall of the PCCF office here on Tuesday, Tok said though acute financial scarcity is preventing the board from smoothly carrying out activities to promote, cultivate and conserve medicinal plants, &#8220;if all stakeholders put up collective responsibility, then nothing is impossible.&#8221;<br \/>\nThere are several herbs and plants which have great medicinal value and are lying abandoned in forests, he added.<br \/>\nExpressing concern over reports of some medicinal plants being on the verge of extinction due to black-marketing, Tok said smuggling of these plants should be immediately checked.<br \/>\nAPSMPB CEO T Gapak highlighted the activities of the board, while SJETA Director Yumlam Kaha, Audit &amp; Pension Director A Basit, Additional PCCF N Tam, Health Joint Director Tage Tatung, Joint RCS RD Thungon and other members suggested several ways to promote and protect the medicinal plants in the state.<br \/>\nOthers, including SFRI scientist RK Taj, North East Homoeopathic Medical College &amp; Hospital Professor Dr G Phaomi, and AYUSH Deputy Director Dr Dusu Laji also shared their views.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Dec 18: Arunachal Pradesh State Medicinal Plant Board (APSMPB) Chairman BC Tok has urged stakeholders to collectively shoulder the responsibility of promoting medicinal plants&#8217; conservation, protection and cultivation in the state.
