\nEstablished within the premises of the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the legal aid clinic was formally inaugurated by APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung.
\nThe legal aid clinic shall provide free counselling and other legal services to the applicants for legal aid through advocates of the District Authority who shall man the clinic on daily basis.
\nAn orientation programme for the five legal aid counsels and 58 Para Legal Volunteers of the district was also held, where Habung spoke on roles and responsibilities of the legal services authorities, Lok Adalat, the Dos and Don’ts of penal lawyers, Victim Compensation Scheme, jail visit methods and roles and responsibilities of Para Legal Volunteers, etc.
\nDuring the interaction session, doubts and queries were addressed.
\nTraining completion certificates were also given to the legal aid counsels.<\/p>\n
