{"id":60049,"date":"2019-02-13T02:58:05","date_gmt":"2019-02-12T21:28:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=60049"},"modified":"2019-02-13T02:58:05","modified_gmt":"2019-02-12T21:28:05","slug":"fisherwomen-undergoing-fish-curing-trg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/02\/13\/fisherwomen-undergoing-fish-curing-trg\/","title":{"rendered":"Fisherwomen undergoing fish curing trg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>[ Karyir Riba ] <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>BALEK, Feb 12:<\/strong> More than 70 fisherwomen are participating in a three-day training programme on &#8216;smoke-curing fish in hygienic conditions&#8217; which began at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district on Tuesday.<br \/>\nFifteen community fish-smoking kilns worth Rs 8 lakhs were distributed to women SHGs on the first day of the event which is being organized by the ICAR&#8217;s Kochi (Kerala)-based Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) in collaboration with the KVK here, under the CSR scheme of Coal India Limited (CIL).<br \/>\nCIFT principal scientist Dr MM Prasad said the teamwork and toil of the fisherwomen of the district &#8220;are paying dividends in the form of success stories.<br \/>\n&#8220;Women of Arunachal Pradesh in particular and the NE region in general are leading in different walks of life. The enthusiasm has resulted in women-centric projects such as the CIL&#8217;s CSR projects,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nCommending the CIFT for its support to the district&#8217;s fisherwomen, Roing ADC Tapik Pertin said, &#8220;Some women fishers become trainers and are able to train other fisherwomen, resulting in better development of the fisheries sector.&#8221;<br \/>\nOimang Lego of Jiya village shared her experience, and urged women to strive hard to make LDV &#8220;a role model district of the country.&#8221;<br \/>\nKVK Head Dr TJ Ramesha, fishery scientist Jimmy Mize and innovator Jatan Pulu also spoke.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ Karyir Riba ] BALEK, Feb 12: More than 70 fisherwomen are participating in a three-day training programme on &#8216;smoke-curing fish in hygienic conditions&#8217; which began at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district on Tuesday.
