{"id":61117,"date":"2019-02-28T17:07:31","date_gmt":"2019-02-28T11:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=61117"},"modified":"2019-02-28T17:07:31","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T11:37:31","slug":"aalo-bandh-passes-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/02\/28\/aalo-bandh-passes-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Aalo bandh passes off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>AALO, Feb 27:<\/strong> The streets of West Siang HQ Aalo wore a deserted look during the simultaneous 24-hour bandh imposed by the Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association (PAYWA) and the 12-hour bandh imposed by the Galo Students&#8217; Union and the Arunachal Law Students&#8217; Union over the PRC issue from 26 to 27 February.<br \/>\nDuring the bandh, which passed off peacefully, all markets and several office establishments remained closed, and plying of vehicles came to a standstill.<br \/>\nMembers of the PAYWA also took out a candlelight march for the youths who died in police firing during the anti-PRC agitation in Itanagar.<br \/>\nThe organisations have demanded that compensation be issued to the families of the deceased, and that justice be delivered to them.<br \/>\nEarlier, DC Swetika Sachan held a meeting with representatives of political parties, NGOs and CBOs, along with senior citizens and other stakeholders, and apprised them of the state government&#8217;s assurance that it would not take up the PRC issue again.<br \/>\nThe DC called for utmost restraint in taking up the sensitive issue in the district, and said the administration is open to discussions with all stakeholders.
