{"id":61284,"date":"2019-03-02T01:16:06","date_gmt":"2019-03-01T19:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=61284"},"modified":"2019-03-02T01:16:06","modified_gmt":"2019-03-01T19:46:06","slug":"org-seeks-protection-of-villagers-from-chakma-militants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/03\/02\/org-seeks-protection-of-villagers-from-chakma-militants\/","title":{"rendered":"Org seeks protection of villagers from Chakma militants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>TEZU, Mar 1:<\/strong> The Mishmi Welfare Society (MWS) has demanded deployment of army personnel in Kathan village in Wakro circle of Lohit district to ensure the safety and security of the villagers.<br \/>\nMembers of the MWS on Friday took out a peaceful rally here, condemning &#8220;the act of atrocities upon the villagers of Kathan by Chakma militants.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe MWS members also submitted a memorandum to the DC, stating that the villagers of Kathan are &#8220;continuously harassed and threatened by armed Chakma militants.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;There is total sense of insecurity in the village, and the villagers are not able to venture in their agriculture field due to fear psychosis,&#8221; the memorandum said.<br \/>\nInforming that the villagers are offering land free of cost for establishing a paramilitary headquarters or base camp in Kathan, the MWS demanded that such a base be established there at the earliest.<br \/>\nIt also demanded evacuation of Chakmas from Mishmi areas, and demarcation of the boundary between Changlang and Lohit districts in Kathan area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEZU, Mar 1: The Mishmi Welfare Society (MWS) has demanded deployment of army personnel in Kathan village in Wakro circle of Lohit district to ensure the safety and security of the villagers.
