{"id":61912,"date":"2019-03-09T03:14:37","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T21:44:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=61912"},"modified":"2019-03-09T03:14:37","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T21:44:37","slug":"bankers-meet-on-micro-finance-and-shg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/03\/09\/bankers-meet-on-micro-finance-and-shg\/","title":{"rendered":"Bankers meet on micro finance and SHG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Mar 8:<\/strong> National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office organized a state level bankers&#8217; meet on micro finance and Self Help Group (SHG) at its conference hall here on Friday.<br \/>\nNABARD GM Dr. Gyanendra Mani highlighted the various initiatives taken by NABARD as well as the Arunachal Pradesh government in the recent past for women empowerment.<br \/>\nHe said that the state government, for the first time, has awarded two SHGs for good works done by them, which may encourage other groups to upscale their economic activities.<br \/>\nWhile urging the banks to extend credit to good working SHGs, he advised the NGOs to help SHGs to follow the basic principle of credit discipline.<br \/>\nNABARD AGM G. Karmakar made a detailed presentation on micro finance and SHG bank linkage, present status and way forward in Arunachal Pradesh vis-\u00e0-vis micro finance scenario of all India level.<br \/>\nEarlier, DGM V Thirumalai stressed the need of women empowerment and said that strengthening the SHG movement will empower women as 90 per cent of members of SHGs are women.<br \/>\nHe also spoke about skill development of members of SHGs through MEDP, LEDP etc.<br \/>\nThe meeting helped in bringing together all stakeholders involved in promotion of SHGs in the state on one platform.<br \/>\nDuring the meeting, representatives from NGOs\/SHPIs expressed their concerns over difficulties being faced by them in availing bank loan from few bank branches.<br \/>\nThey also shared experiences with other bank branches.<br \/>\nRepresentatives from banks explained in detail about the documentary requirements required to be completed for availing bank loan.<br \/>\nAround 38 participants from banks, various NGOs, SHPIs, attended the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Mar 8: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office organized a state level bankers&#8217; meet on micro finance and Self Help Group (SHG) at its conference hall here on Friday.
