{"id":62641,"date":"2019-03-19T00:11:20","date_gmt":"2019-03-18T18:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=62641"},"modified":"2019-03-19T00:11:20","modified_gmt":"2019-03-18T18:41:20","slug":"dy-cm-introduces-debutant-jummum-to-lekang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/03\/19\/dy-cm-introduces-debutant-jummum-to-lekang\/","title":{"rendered":"Dy CM introduces debutant Jummum to Lekang"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Indrajit Tingwa<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>NAMSAI, Mar 18:<\/strong> Attending the Vijay Sankalp programme organised by the Namsai unit of the BJP here on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein introduced political debutant Jummum Ete Deori as the BJP&#8217;s Lekang candidate.<br \/>\nJummum is the daughter-in-law of late Omem Moyong Deori, the first woman parliamentarian from Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\nAfter a stint of five consecutive wins since 1995 in Lekang assembly constituency, Chowna Mein had vacated his seat. He will be contesting the assembly election from Chowkham assembly constituency this year.<br \/>\nVeteran lawmaker from Chowkham assembly constituency Chow Tewa Mein has retired from active politics and vacated the seat for his brother, Chowna.<br \/>\nSitting Namsai MLA Chow Zingnu Namchoom will contest again from Namsai.<br \/>\nBack in 2014 all the three seats were wrested on Congress tickets.<br \/>\nAddressing party workers and supporters, Chowna said that his prime objective was to make Namsai a model district with all modern amenities.<br \/>\nHe also lashed out at the Congress party, particularly its leadership for &#8220;spreading lies and misinformation&#8221; regarding the permanent resident certificate issue which saw unprecedented protests leading to the loss of valuable lives.<br \/>\nHe said, &#8220;The propaganda was to create law and order problems so that they (Congress) could demand for President&#8217;s Rule and malign the image of the BJP Government, but it did not materialise.&#8221;<br \/>\nChowna said that &#8220;enough evidence has been found and after the BJP returns to power after the elections, the culprits will be booked and everything will be crystal clear.&#8221;<br \/>\nAlso addressing the gathering, Deori said she was overwhelmed by the support of the people in the constituency, particularly women.<br \/>\n&#8220;Keeping aside petty differences, the support of the women has motivated my maiden foray into the assembly elections,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\nNamchoom also gave an outline of the programmes and policies of the present government and steps taken to root-out corruption and nepotism.<br \/>\nCondolences were also paid to former defence minister late Manohar Parrikar, who passed away on 17 March after prolonged illness.<br \/>\nAmong others, BJP district president Chow Sujana Namchoom, state secretary in-charge of Namsai Junty Singpho, and office bearers, members from various notches and mandals were present on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indrajit Tingwa NAMSAI, Mar 18: Attending the Vijay Sankalp programme organised by the Namsai unit of the BJP here on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein introduced political debutant Jummum Ete Deori as the BJP&#8217;s Lekang candidate.
