{"id":63738,"date":"2019-04-05T01:30:35","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T20:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=63738"},"modified":"2019-04-05T01:30:35","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T20:00:35","slug":"wreckage-of-ww-ii-usaf-aircraft-found-in-ldv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/04\/05\/wreckage-of-ww-ii-usaf-aircraft-found-in-ldv\/","title":{"rendered":"Wreckage of WW-II USAF aircraft found in LDV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Apr 4:<\/strong> The wreckage of a World War-II era US Air Force (USAF) aircraft, buried under five feet of snow, has been found in Lower Dibang Valley District (LDV).<br \/>\nA 12-member army patrol, along with a police representative, recovered the aircraft&#8217;s remains, which were covered with thick undergrowth, on 30 March, the Indian Army said in a release.<br \/>\nThe patrol team located the WW-II vintage USAF aircraft in Roing, the district headquarters of LDV.<br \/>\n&#8220;Based on the information received from local trekkers through police, a special patrol of the army was sent to locate the wreckage in a remote location, 30 kms from Roing,&#8221; it said.<br \/>\nThe patrol moved cross-country for 30 kms through thick jungles and snow-covered areas for eight days to trace the wreckage.<br \/>\nThe region had seldom been ventured into by anyone in the past and is even obscured from air due to thick foliage, it said.<br \/>\n&#8220;The discovery of the vintage aircraft and other warlike stores will definitely lead to revelation of some historical facts,&#8221; the release said.<br \/>\nThe army patrol was at the location searching for more details at the time of filing this report, the release added.
