It includes rituals for fertility of crops, plants, animals and human beings.<br \/>\nParticipating in the festivities here, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal called on the revellers not only to preserve their traditions but also to promote them.<br \/>\n&#8220;Festivals are not platforms for interaction and merrymaking but also for learning one&#8217;s tradition and culture,&#8221; Gopal said, and urged the youths to retain the age-old practices.<br \/>\nPeople from all walks of life attended the celebration, and witnessed the traditional dance performances.<br \/>\nIn Tirap district, the Galo community celebrated Mopin festival in a befitting manner at the civil judge residential complex in Khonsa.<br \/>\nGreeting the Galo people, DC PN Thungon said, &#8220;Galos are traditionally rich and peace-loving people and the dances and songs of Mopin are very popular in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.&#8221;<br \/>\nThungon prayed to almighty Donyi-Polo for peace, brotherhood and a bumper harvest in the years to come.<br \/>\nEarlier, the festival&#8217;s organising committee president, Henrik Basar, highlighted the significance of Mopin.<br \/>\nThe celebration featured colourful dances and songs.
