But none of the promises has materialized during its five-year tenure,&#8221; said the popular Bollywood comedian.<br \/>\nDescribing the Congress as &#8220;the mother of many political parties&#8221; which has produced several top political leaders, Asrani said some leaders were now deserting the Congress &#8220;for politics of vested interests.&#8221;<br \/>\nArunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy alleged that the BJP had hijacked the Congress government in Arunachal and formed a government with legislators, a majority of whom had been elected on Congress tickets.<br \/>\nHe also alleged that &#8220;the BJP has broken all previous records of corruption and ruined the economy of the state,&#8221; and appealed to the people to make wise choices while deciding which party to vote for.<br \/>\nHighlighting the party&#8217;s election manifesto, Sanjoy said the Congress has decided not only to enhance the BPL rice quota from 5 kgs to 30 kgs per month but also provide it free of cost to the beneficiaries.<br \/>\nThe party has also decided to hike the labour wage up to Rs 18,000, if voted to power, he said.<br \/>\nFormer education minister and the party&#8217;s candidate for the Pasighat East seat, Bosiram Siram, highlighted the failures of the incumbent BJP MLA of the constituency, and the various achievements made during his (Siram) tenure as MLA.<br \/>\nArunachal Congress Legislative Party leader and former minister Takam Pario, and former MP and Congress MLA candidate for the Pasighat West constituency, Ninong Ering, also spoke during the rally.<br \/>\nThey appealed to the people to uproot the BJP&#8217;s base from the state.<br \/>\nAmong others, DCC president Oni Tamuk, District Mahila Congress president Ponung Jamoh and other party leaders of Pasighat, Mebo and Pasighat West areas attended the rally.<br \/>\nMore than 20,000 Congress party members and supporters joined the rally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent PASIGHAT, Apr 6: The Congress&#8217; star campaigner, Govardhan Asrani, said the BJP-led NDA government ruined the country&#8217;s economy by introducing cashless transaction and high rate of goods &amp; services tax.
