{"id":64729,"date":"2019-04-17T01:19:11","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T19:49:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=64729"},"modified":"2019-04-17T01:19:11","modified_gmt":"2019-04-16T19:49:11","slug":"polling-agent-dies-on-duty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/04\/17\/polling-agent-dies-on-duty\/","title":{"rendered":"Polling agent dies on duty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Apr 16:<\/strong> Upper Siang district BJP Minority Morcha president Samten Wangdi passed away after suffering a massive stroke while on election duty as a polling agent at Kope village in Tuting subdivision on 11 April.<br \/>\nWangdi (52) was rushed to the Tuting CHC, but succumbed to the stroke in the intervening night of 11 and 12 April.<br \/>\n&#8220;He was a veteran political figure and a social worker of Tuting, and rendered valuable services to the people of Upper Siang during his long social and political career,&#8221; the state unit of the National People&#8217;s Party (NPP) said in a condolence message.<br \/>\n&#8220;In his death, we have lost a renowned social worker, a perfect gentlemen and a visionary community leader who dedicated his life for the welfare of the people of Tuting subdivision,&#8221; said the party.<br \/>\nState NPP president Gicho Kabak and vice president Nima Sangey Saling on behalf of the party&#8217;s workers and office bearers conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.<br \/>\nSaling, along with Upper Siang district NPP president Pema Nyisur and public leaders of Tuting subdivision, attended the funeral programme at Wangdi&#8217;s native village, Kopu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Apr 16: Upper Siang district BJP Minority Morcha president Samten Wangdi passed away after suffering a massive stroke while on election duty as a polling agent at Kope village in Tuting subdivision on 11 April.
