{"id":6482,"date":"2017-10-25T00:27:44","date_gmt":"2017-10-24T18:57:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=6482"},"modified":"2017-10-25T00:27:44","modified_gmt":"2017-10-24T18:57:44","slug":"governor-urges-niti-aayog-to-facilitate-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/10\/25\/governor-urges-niti-aayog-to-facilitate-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor urges NITI Aayog to facilitate development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Oct 24:<\/strong> Stating that Arunachal Pradesh wants to be a contributing state in the development of the nation, Governor, Dr B D Mishra has urged the NITI Aayog to facilitate its time bound development.<br \/>\nThe Governor said this when NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar called on him at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.<br \/>\nReiterating his concern for the people in border areas and the need for their viable support, the Governor said that Arunachal due to its many inherent peculiarities needs more support than other states in the region.<br \/>\nThe Governor emphasized for special aid and assistance from NITI Aayog to address the issues of security, connectivity, communication and projects for the enhancement of the revenue of the state. He also advocated for technical and financial assistances to the state to harness its potential in hydropower, tourism, horticulture and organic produces.<br \/>\nEarlier on Monday, during an interactive session with Dr Rajiv Kumar and think tank of Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor stressed on proper and time bound implementation of welfare projects and programmes.<br \/>\nThe Governor said that problems of the last man standing in the queue must be addressed and the person should be benefited. The Governor also advised the think tank of the state to focus on how Arunachal Pradesh will be in 2022.<br \/>\nThe NITI Aayog Vice Chairman also suggested the state government to constitute a task force to address the challenges of border areas, which deserve the highest priority.<br \/>\nHe also suggested for Free Trade Agreement to strengthen Act East Policy with Myanmar as a transit point. He further emphasized on digital mobile banking, organic farming, tourism, hydel projects and reinforcing social sectors, such as health and education, which he said are important for inclusive growth.<br \/>\nModerated by Professor N K Nayak, Rajiv Gandhi University, the think tank of the state, including Dr Joram Begi, Chief Information Commissioner, Tajom Taloh, Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, deans and professors of Rajiv Gandhi University, NERIST and NIT and senior officials of the State Bank of India and NABARD shared their ideas.<br \/>\nThey expressed their views and reservations regarding World Bank and Asian Development Bank, Act East Policy, industrialization, health and education etc.<br \/>\nAs an encouragement to tribal students, three meritorious students, namely Nabam Dojik, Remi Ado and Tana Mary Tara from Government Higher Secondary School, Naharlagun were also felicitated by the NITI Aayog Vice Chairman on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Oct 24: Stating that Arunachal Pradesh wants to be a contributing state in the development of the nation, Governor, Dr B D Mishra has urged the NITI Aayog to facilitate its time bound development.
