{"id":64828,"date":"2019-04-18T01:24:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T19:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=64828"},"modified":"2019-04-18T01:24:00","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T19:54:00","slug":"2-npp-workers-kidnapped-by-nscn-k-in-longding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/04\/18\/2-npp-workers-kidnapped-by-nscn-k-in-longding\/","title":{"rendered":"2 NPP workers kidnapped by NSCN (K) in Longding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>LONGDING, Apr 17:<\/strong> Two workers of National People&#8217;s Party (NPP) have allegedly been kidnapped by the Khaplang faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-K) in Longding district.<br \/>\nA complaint has been lodged in this regard with the Longding Police Station by the NPP candidate for Longding Pumao constituency Thangwam Wangham.<br \/>\nIn his complaint letter, Wangham said that two of his workers named Apong Wangsu and Yatun Wangsa have been kidnapped by the NSCN (K).<br \/>\nWhen contacted by this daily, Officer-in-Charge of Longding Police Station O. Lego said that a complaint has been received in this regard and, the case has been registered under section 365\/506\/34 IPC RWS 10\/13 UAP Act.<br \/>\nThe NPP candidate accused his rival BJP candidate of using the UG elements to harass his workers and urged the police to take necessary action against the BJP candidate.<br \/>\nWangham claimed that at least 30 activists of NSCN (K) and 10 of NSCN (IM) are currently stationed in Longkhaw village under Longding district and working &#8216;in favour of the opposition BJP candidate.&#8217;<br \/>\nAlleging that some BJP workers, in connivance with the UG elements, are harassing his workers and supporters, Wangham urged police to take immediate action against them so that no further incidents of kidnapping of NPP workers occur.<br \/>\nAlleging undue interference by UG activists in the election process, the NPP candidate has also been demanding deployment of sufficient security forces during the day of re-polling at Longkhaw polling station.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Wancho Students&#8217; Union (WSU) and All Wancho Women Welfare Society (AWWWS), in separate letters to Commander, Blue sky Operation, Naga Army, NSCN-IM Anok Wangsu has urged him to withdraw its cadres from Longkhaw village.<br \/>\nBoth the organizations strongly condemned the alleged interference by the NSCN in the ongoing election process in Longkhaw.<br \/>\nThey appealed to Wangsu to allow the public of Longkhaw to exercise their democratic rights in a free and fair manner and let them choose their leader in their own to facilitate formation of a people friendly government.<br \/>\nBoth AWWWS and WSU said that the outfit will be held responsible, if anything unpleasant incident happens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter LONGDING, Apr 17: Two workers of National People&#8217;s Party (NPP) have allegedly been kidnapped by the Khaplang faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-K) in Longding district.
