\nSEPPA, Oct 24:<\/strong> In a remarkable precedence, social audits cum performance reports were presented by respective legislators of East Kameng district on the inaugural day of the 39th foundation day cum 7th general conference of the East Kameng Social Welfare Culture Organization (EKSWCO) at General Ground, Seppa.
\nThe social audits cum performance reports were presented through PowerPoint presentation on development activities of four assembly constituencies- 8th Bameng, 9th Chayang Tajo, 10th Seppa East and 11th Seppa West.
\nThe 12th Pakke-Kessang Assembly Constituency currently does not have an MLA.
\nPresenting his performance report, Bameng MLA cum Minister Home & RWD, Kumar Waii stated that mortgage system during election campaign and clanism are inimical to the development of the district.
\nThe Home Minister appealed to the EKSWCO to root out mortgage and money lending on interest culture from the district.
\nChayang Tajo MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary Karya Bagang while presenting the development data of her constituency sought support from the people as well as officers to make her constituency and district better.
\n10th Seppa East MLA, Tapuk Taku in his presentation said that local representatives are hardly appreciated by the people despite many getting developmental projects. Taku further informed that Seppa Township\u2019s drinking water supply problem would soon be mitigated.
\nFurther, 11th West Seppa MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary Panchayati Raj, RD and IPR, Mama Natung in his PowerPoint presentation said that Kameng River Festival 2016 has put East Kameng in the tourism map, and asserted that efforts are on to make KRF a calendar event.
\nNatung asked the EKSWCO to guide the education sector so that foundation of the district could be laid stronger. He said that EKSWCO seeking social audit from its legislators would set a remarkable precedence in the state and many would follow the district parental organisation philosophy.
\nIn his Presidential address, EKSWCO Chairman, Khya Safar Pao informed that various reformative measures regarding the imposition of fine, clanism and revenge system were being adopted by the organisation. The EKSWCO Chairman further stated that organisation has remained torch-bearer of ‘Pan Arunachal’ identity as it represents five tribes of Nyishi, Aka, Sajolang, Puroik and Galo.
\nHe called upon the members of various community-based organisations (CBOs)to spread the EKSWCO philosophy across the state, so that mutual co-existence is maintained.
\nVarious community based organisations, including Sajolang Elite Society, Galo Welfare Society, Nyishi Elite Society, Aka Welfare Society, Tani Supun Dukun and Tagin Cultural Society and members from Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum took part in the inaugural day.
\nSharing his ideas on role of CBOs, AITF cum NES President Bengia Tolum expressed hope that EKSWCO would continue to guide and maintain its ‘Pan Arunachal’ spirit.
\nRepresenting Galo Welfare Society, Gomar Basar extolled role of EKSWCO for officially recognizing the Galo community of Dissing Passo as one of the tribes of East Kameng district. He said EKSWCO has shown the path and each tribe in the state should learn from it in promoting communal harmony.
\nEarlier, EKSWCO declared Sekong village under Lada circle as the cleanest village in the district. It declared it after visiting the village during its month-long Swachh Bharat Mission Campaign.
\nThe EKSWCO further felicitated many eminent personalities for their outstanding contributions to the district in distinct fields. It also felicitated meritorious students during the function.<\/p>\n
