{"id":65091,"date":"2019-04-21T00:55:15","date_gmt":"2019-04-20T19:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=65091"},"modified":"2019-04-21T00:55:15","modified_gmt":"2019-04-20T19:25:15","slug":"tribal-affairs-secy-encourages-entrepreneurship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/04\/21\/tribal-affairs-secy-encourages-entrepreneurship\/","title":{"rendered":"Tribal affairs secy encourages entrepreneurship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>PASIGHAT, Apr 20:<\/strong> Union Tribal Affairs Secretary Deepak Khandekar said his ministry is keen on extending support towards training and infrastructure for value addition and marketing in areas like small-scale industries, textiles, tourism, agro-horticulture, fishery, bamboo, animal husbandry, and forest produces.<br \/>\nKhandekar said this while chairing a meeting with officers of various departments here in East Siang district on Saturday.<br \/>\nStressing on encouraging entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities for socioeconomic empowerment of the tribal communities of the state, Khandekar asked the departments to &#8220;submit feasible income generation proposals to enhance the income level of the tribal people.&#8221;<br \/>\nProposals in the education sector will also be given priority, he added.<br \/>\n&#8220;East Siang district has huge potential in horticulture, bamboo, textiles, tourism and sericulture,&#8221; Khandekar said, and called for training SHGs and craftsmen in adding value to their products to meet the market demands.<br \/>\nHe said the ministry, in collaboration with National Institute of Design, would facilitate training of craftsmen.<br \/>\nDeputy Commissioner Kinny Singh presented a brief on the proposals in the education sector for the district, while ICDS DD Ponung Ering Angu highlighted the socioeconomic development activities in the district.<br \/>\nAngu informed that 25 women SHGs with around 400 members received vocational training under the microfinance scheme.<br \/>\nEarlier, the tribal affairs secretary visited the museum and the crafts centre here.
