{"id":65610,"date":"2019-04-27T01:08:07","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T19:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=65610"},"modified":"2019-04-27T01:08:07","modified_gmt":"2019-04-26T19:38:07","slug":"malaria-day-observed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/04\/27\/malaria-day-observed\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaria Day observed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>BORUM, Apr 26:<\/strong> The Papum Pare District Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme Society on Thursday observed World Malaria Day with the theme &#8216;Zero malaria starts with me&#8217; at the government middle school here.<br \/>\nAddressing the function, Capital DMO Dr Mandip Perme said the load of malaria, &#8220;especially pf cases,&#8221; has gone down drastically in the district in the last couple of years, and therefore the indoor residual spray routine has been stopped this year, &#8220;based on the annual parasite incidence indicator.&#8221;<br \/>\nDr Perme, however, stressed on carrying out source reduction activities in the capital area to control other vector-borne diseases. He asked the health department&#8217;s personnel and the ASHAs to be &#8220;proactive and not become complacent, as it may become a hurdle to achieving our goal of being malaria-free by 2030.&#8221;<br \/>\nEarlier, District Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme Officer Dr Tana Aruna informed that the District Health Society has been making serious efforts to control and contain malarial deaths and vector-borne diseases in and around the rural and urban areas of the district.<br \/>\nShe also urged the ASHAs, health staffers and the public to be aware of the national guidelines on early diagnosis and complete treatment to control the spread of malaria.
