{"id":65937,"date":"2019-05-01T00:57:18","date_gmt":"2019-04-30T19:27:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=65937"},"modified":"2019-05-01T00:57:18","modified_gmt":"2019-04-30T19:27:18","slug":"gaon-burahs-gaon-buris-trained-on-customary-and-general-laws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/05\/01\/gaon-burahs-gaon-buris-trained-on-customary-and-general-laws\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaon burahs, gaon buris trained on customary and general laws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TEZU, Apr 30:<\/strong> The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) in collaboration with the union law &amp; justice ministry&#8217;s justice department conducted a two-day training programme on &#8216;synergy between customary laws of Arunachal Pradesh and general laws&#8217; for the gaon burahs and gaon buris of eight districts, here on Saturday and Sunday.<br \/>\nThe programme, which was held under the &#8216;Access to justice, Northeast and Jammu &amp; Kashmir&#8217; project, saw the participation of about 70 GBs from Lohit, Tirap, Changlang, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Anjaw, Longding and Namsai districts.<br \/>\nLohit District &amp; Sessions Judge Ito Basar and APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung addressed the gathering.<br \/>\nOn the first day, Habung spoke on the role and responsibility of the APSLSA in providing access to justice for all, free legal services, lok adalats, the concept of alternative dispute resolution, and the state&#8217;s victim compensation scheme.<br \/>\nAdvocate T Boo spoke on customary courts, including the village authority, under the Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice) Regulation, 1945, and on the state&#8217;s judiciary in the present context.<br \/>\nOther resource persons included advocates Sasamlu Minin, J Manyu and B Tayang.<br \/>\nThe programme also featured an interaction between the participants and the resource persons, and certificates were later distributed to the participants.<br \/>\nThe legal literacy training programme was aimed at providing facilities and &#8216;access to justice&#8217; platforms at the grassroots level, and to ensure providing opportunities for securing justice for all.<br \/>\nThe project aims to train nearly 400 GBs across the state, who have been identified linguistically under six zones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEZU, Apr 30: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) in collaboration with the union law &amp; justice ministry&#8217;s justice department conducted a two-day training programme on &#8216;synergy between customary laws of Arunachal Pradesh and general laws&#8217; for the gaon burahs and gaon buris of eight districts, here on Saturday and Sunday.
