{"id":66360,"date":"2019-05-07T01:55:27","date_gmt":"2019-05-06T20:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=66360"},"modified":"2019-05-07T01:55:27","modified_gmt":"2019-05-06T20:25:27","slug":"girls-outperform-boys-in-cbse-class-10-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/05\/07\/girls-outperform-boys-in-cbse-class-10-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls outperform boys in CBSE Class 10 results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NEW DELHI, May 6:<\/strong> Girls outperformed boys yet again in the CBSE Class 10 examination, in which the top rank was shared by 13 students with 499 out of 500 marks.<br \/>\nThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday announced the Class 10 results, and 91.10 percent candidates cleared the examination, an improvement of 4.40 percent since last year.<br \/>\nhe pass percentage of girls was 92.45 against last year&#8217;s 88.67, while that of boys was 90.14 against last year&#8217;s 85.32.<br \/>\nGirls have done better than boys by 2.31 percent. The pass percentage of transgender candidates was 94.74 percent.<br \/>\nThe second rank was bagged by 25 students who scored 498 out of 500 marks, while the third rank was shared by 59 students who got 497 marks.<br \/>\nGovernment-run Kendriya Vidyalayas have outperformed others with a pass percentage of 99.47. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, also run by the government, have achieved a pass percentage of 98.57, while for private schools the percentage is 94.15.<br \/>\nOther government-run and -aided schools in the country have achieved a pass percentage of 71.91 and 76.95, respectively.<br \/>\nForeign schools affiliated to the CBSE have achieved a pass percentage of 98.75.<br \/>\nThe Thiruvananthapuram region performed the best with a pass percentage of 99.85, followed by Chennai and Ajmer with 99 and 95.89 percent, respectively.<br \/>\nThe maximum number of toppers was from Uttar Pradesh, including eight of the 13 top rankers, 13 of the 25 second rankers, and 19 out of the 59 third rankers.<br \/>\nDelhi was ranked second last among the top ten states with a pass percentage of 80.97, and Guwahati was last with 74.49.<br \/>\nA total of 2.25 lakh students scored above 90 percent and 57,256 scored above 95 percent.<br \/>\nThe percentage of students placed in compartment has gone down by 3.57 percent since last year.
