NAHARLAGUN, May 10:<\/strong> Finance Secretary YW Ringu on Thursday urged the branch managers and senior officers of the Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Apex Bank to “change their mindset and work hard to sustain in the competitive market.”
\nAttending the bank’s annual review meeting at the Administrative Training Institute here, Ringu urged every employee of the bank to make genuine efforts to gain the trust of the public, “starting from the grassroots level.”
\nShe congratulated the Aalo and the Ziro branches of the Apex Bank for winning awards for the best and the second best branch, respectively.
\nRingu, however, cautioned the bank regarding the
\n“high non-performing assets position despite good amount of recovery,” and advised the branch managers to conduct capacity-building programmes under the social security scheme, financial inclusion, etc.
\nCooperative Society Registrar Tai Kaye advised the bank’s officials to “maintain work culture and exercise corrective measures on time.”
\nHe also emphasized on timely submission of returns for onward submission to the government, the RBI, the NABARD, etc.
\nNABARD Regional Office General Manager Gopa Kumaran Nair said Arunachal is an agrarian state and has huge potential, “but the credit input is very low.”
\nHe suggested issuing more Kisan Credit Cards to the farmers, and also suggested providing loans for capital formation and availing the NABARD’s subsidy schemes.
\nApex Bank Administrator Habung Lampung expressed happiness over “achieving sustainable positive growth in certain parameters as targeted by the bank,” and advised the employees to “work hard for overall improvement.”
\nHe also emphasized that, to ensure professionalism in the bank, the staff should qualify the CPCB examination for promotion to higher grades. Lampung advised the branch managers to “work hard for mobilization of deposits and create awareness about the flexi programme among the public.”
\nHe thanked the state government for sanctioning Rs 10 crore for construction of the bank’s head office, and requested the government to park department funds and state government staffs’ salaries in the Apex Bank.
