{"id":67599,"date":"2019-05-22T02:48:55","date_gmt":"2019-05-21T21:18:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=67599"},"modified":"2019-05-22T02:48:55","modified_gmt":"2019-05-21T21:18:55","slug":"bro-ncc-adgs-call-on-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/05\/22\/bro-ncc-adgs-call-on-governor\/","title":{"rendered":"BRO, NCC ADGs call on governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, May 21:<\/strong> Officiating Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Roads Organization (BRO)-East, PKH Singh, called on Governor BD Mishra at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, and the two discussed the border roads programmes in Arunachal.<br \/>\nMishra commended the BRO for constructing and maintaining roads in the remote and far-flung areas of the state.<br \/>\n&#8220;Roads are the arteries of development, and road connectivity is vital to bring progress and prosperity in the state,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nThe governor urged the BRO to keep the roads open throughout the year &#8220;for the ease of movement and wellbeing of the people.&#8221;<br \/>\nDevelopment of tourism, socioeconomic growth of the agrarian community, and export of organic horticultural and agricultural produce largely depend on good road connectivity, he explained.<br \/>\nThe governor said his office would facilitate all administrative assistance in the matter of constructing roads in the state. He also advised the BRO to build good rapport with the local communities to ensure smooth execution of projects.<br \/>\nCommissioner to Governor, RP Upadhyaya, and Project Arunank Chief Engineer, Brig RS Rawal, were also present at the meeting.<br \/>\nAlso during the day, the ADG of Shillong (Meghalaya)-based National Cadet Corps (NCC), North Eastern Region, Maj Gen Bipin Bakshi, called on the governor.<br \/>\nThey discussed ways to promote NCC programmes and activities in Arunachal.<br \/>\nThe governor said the NCC &#8220;is a very important part of academic curricula, which has been instilling unity, discipline, nationalism, patriotism and spirit of &#8216;nation first&#8217; among the young students.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe stressed that the cadets from Arunachal &#8220;must have the opportunities of attending regular NCC trainings and take A, B and C certificate examinations of the NCC, and work hard to get selected for the Republic Day parade.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe governor encouraged establishing more and more NCC units, saying they help in &#8220;developing a disciplined human resource in our state.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe ADG informed that 100 vacancies for enrollment of students in the NCC have been allotted to Rajiv Gandhi University, and that enrollment will start in June.
