{"id":70839,"date":"2019-06-27T01:05:28","date_gmt":"2019-06-26T19:35:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=70839"},"modified":"2019-06-27T01:05:28","modified_gmt":"2019-06-26T19:35:28","slug":"atm-fraud-victim-seeks-sbi-police-intervention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/06\/27\/atm-fraud-victim-seeks-sbi-police-intervention\/","title":{"rendered":"ATM fraud victim seeks SBI, police intervention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Jun 26:<\/strong> Allegedly a victim of ATM fraud, a distressed customer of the State Bank of India (SBI), Biku Kiran sought the intervention of the police and the SBI authority to retrieve his amount.<br \/>\nIn a FIR lodged with the Police Station Itanagar on 24 June, 27-year-old Kiran claimed that Rs 40, 000 was fraudulently withdrawn from his SBI savings account.<br \/>\nHe learnt of the development when he received an auto-generated message from the SBI.<br \/>\nAccording to Kiran, the message reflected that the amount was withdrawn from BN Jha Road, Deoghardeoghar in Jharkhand on 7 May, 2019 at around 16.42 hours.<br \/>\nHe claimed that he did not share any information about his bank details to anyone or any hoax callers.<br \/>\n&#8220;Alarmed by the withdrawal message, I had reported the matter to the SBI officials, but the SBI rejected my complaints five to six times,&#8221; Kiren claimed.<br \/>\nHe also alleged that when he approached the Itanagar police station to report the matter, the police refused to register the case saying, &#8220;there is no such section to register the concerned fraud case,&#8221; and his complaint letter was reportedly forwarded to the SIT&#8217;s cyber cell in the Chandranagar PHQ.<br \/>\n&#8220;The SIT cyber cell registered the case on 24 June only after repeated visits,&#8221; a frustrated Kiran added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter ITANAGAR, Jun 26: Allegedly a victim of ATM fraud, a distressed customer of the State Bank of India (SBI), Biku Kiran sought the intervention of the police and the SBI authority to retrieve his amount.
