{"id":70873,"date":"2019-06-28T00:54:53","date_gmt":"2019-06-27T19:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=70873"},"modified":"2019-06-28T00:54:53","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T19:24:53","slug":"maxicab-drivers-advised-to-abide-by-traffic-laws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/06\/28\/maxicab-drivers-advised-to-abide-by-traffic-laws\/","title":{"rendered":"Maxicab drivers advised to abide by traffic laws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>NAHARLAGUN, Jun 26:<\/strong> Capital Complex District Transport Officer (DTO) Chakfa Wangsu has advised maxicab drivers to be well-versed with the traffic rules and follow them in letter and spirit.<br \/>\nAddressing a meeting of the City Service Maxicab Association here on Wednesday, Wangsu said, &#8220;Road transportation is one of the vital links that facilitates productivity, which in turn leads to rapid economic development of a state and country.&#8221;<br \/>\nDescribing well-trained professional drivers as &#8220;the backbone of every supply chain,&#8221; he said it is the duty of drivers &#8220;to be professional, follow traffic rules at all times, and make people aware of the same.&#8221;<br \/>\nAcknowledging the efforts of Capital SP Tumme Amo to deal with traffic congestion in the capital complex, Wangsu urged the public to &#8220;cooperate with the administrators for better results.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe DTO also stressed on creating more parking lots in the capital complex, saying doing so would help in reducing traffic congestion to a large extent. He also requested motorists to make use of the existing parking areas.<br \/>\nWangsu said steps would soon be initiated to regulate the rates of commercial vehicles, as demanded by the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF).<br \/>\nAAPPTF president Dobing Sonam in his address advised the maxicab drivers to drive safely and be aware of the traffic rules to ensure the safety of the passengers.<br \/>\nSonam said the AAPPTF would soon submit a memorandum to the chief minister for creation of a labour welfare-like board for the members of the transport federation, &#8220;so that several aspects with regard to their and their families&#8217; health, their children&#8217;s education, etc, are secured.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAHARLAGUN, Jun 26: Capital Complex District Transport Officer (DTO) Chakfa Wangsu has advised maxicab drivers to be well-versed with the traffic rules and follow them in letter and spirit.
