{"id":7137,"date":"2017-10-30T00:57:15","date_gmt":"2017-10-29T19:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=7137"},"modified":"2017-10-30T00:57:15","modified_gmt":"2017-10-29T19:27:15","slug":"sai-win-overall-championship-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/10\/30\/sai-win-overall-championship-title\/","title":{"rendered":"SAI win overall championship title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NIRJULI, Oct 29:<\/strong> Sports Authority of India (SAI)\u2019s Special Area Game (SAG) Centre, Naharlagun won the overall championship title in the 22nd State Level (Junior, Cadet, Sub Junior and U-21) Karate Championship 2017, which concluded at Nyikum Niya Hall, Nirjuli on Saturday.<br \/>\nUpper Subansiri team was declared runners up.<br \/>\nIn total, 604 karatekes from 17 districts and SAI SAG Center, Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu participated in the championship. Of the total participants, 384 were boys and 220 girls.<br \/>\nSports Authority of Arunachal Chairman Bamang Tago, who attended the closing ceremony, was highly impressed by the performance of the karate players and the disciplined maintained by them.<br \/>\n\u201cBy seeing the performance of the karatekas, I am convinced that sports in the state have reached the international standard,\u201d Tago said.<br \/>\nHe advised the players to learn from defeat for better performance in future, stating that winning and losing is part and parcel of any game.<br \/>\nArunachal Karate Do Association President Shihan Likha Tara asked the players not to get complacent with state level events.<br \/>\n\u201cYou must work harder to get a chance in national or international championship\u201d, Tara, who also is the Vice President of Karate Association India, said.<br \/>\nAll AKA officials, coaches and instructors and senior players were present.<br \/>\nThe two-day championship was organized by All Papum Pare District Karate Do Association under the aegis of Arunachal Karate Do Association.<br \/>\nTechnical officials (44), including district presidents and secretaries were also present during the opening and closing ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NIRJULI, Oct 29: Sports Authority of India (SAI)\u2019s Special Area Game (SAG) Centre, Naharlagun won the overall championship title in the 22nd State Level (Junior, Cadet, Sub Junior and U-21) Karate Championship 2017, which concluded at Nyikum Niya Hall, Nirjuli on Saturday.
