\nGovernment establishments, shops, educational institutions, banks within the area, where the bandh was enforced, were closed and vehicles remained off the road during the bandh period, claimed ATPWDS in a release.
\nMembers of the Galo Students Union and Maxi cab and Tata Sumo Association, Aalo also came forward to support the bandh.
\nMeanwhile, the proposed third phase 60-hour bandh has been deferred from November 7 to 9 to November 22 to 24 to give the authority sufficient time to resolve the issue.
\nWhile informing this, ATPWDS Chairman Kento Ete appealed to the state government to resolve the issue of road construction before the commencement of the third phase of the agitation.
\nGSU President Binya Ronya also appealed to the state government and the entrusted road construction company for immediate execution of the project, failing which he threatened to launch mass movement.
\nThe ATPWDS has been demanding immediate construction and maintenance of highway (TAH) from Gabu to Tai section of Aalo Bam road.
\nThe society had called a 24-hour bandh on October 23 in its first phase.<\/p>\n
