{"id":74926,"date":"2019-08-09T00:20:24","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T18:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=74926"},"modified":"2019-08-09T00:20:24","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T18:50:24","slug":"lsps-trained-on-scientific-pig-rearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/08\/09\/lsps-trained-on-scientific-pig-rearing\/","title":{"rendered":"LSPs trained on scientific pig rearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>KARSINGSA, Aug 8:<\/strong> Forty livestock service providers (LSP) from Doimukh, Yachuli and Kimin blocks participated in a training programme on &#8216;scientific rearing and management of swine&#8217; organized by the North East Development Agency (NEDA) in collaboration with the Papum Pare KVK here on Thursday.<br \/>\nThe LSPs were trained in order to help them in providing services to the local pig farmers in their respective villages.<br \/>\nSpeaking on the topic of &#8216;More crop per drop&#8217;, KVK Head Dr Bangkeng Perme educated the trainees on water scarcity and its impact on crop, livestock, the society, and the environment at large.<br \/>\nHe advised the LSPs to &#8220;take up technologies like drip and sprinkler irrigation, and use water conservation and rainwater harvesting methods for conservation and judicious use of water and its resources.&#8221;<br \/>\nDr Yab Mate spoke on scientific pigsty construction, management and feeding of swine of different age groups, and different bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases and how to prevent and control them.<br \/>\nNEIDA-AR project associate Dr Kesang Yeshi Tukshipa dwelt on the recent outbreak of Japanese encephalitis, and its prevention and control, and urged the LSPs to upgrade piggery promotion in their blocks.<br \/>\nThe LSPs were later taken on an exposure visit to the government pig breeding farm here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>E\/Siang KVK imparts trg<\/strong><br \/>\nMeanwhile, the East Siang KVK organised a training programme on &#8216;integrated pest and disease management under cluster demonstration of pulse&#8217; at Kiyit village.<br \/>\nDuring the programme, which saw the participation of 45 farmers from 12 local SHGs, KVK Head Toge Ribe spoke about cultivation of pulse, black gram, etc, besides the importance of pulses in one&#8217;s daily diet, and their market value.<br \/>\nHe encouraged the villagers to &#8220;cultivate in cluster mode of farming, which enhances marketing and also helps in pulling produce for marketing in bulk.&#8221;<br \/>\nAltogether 225 kgs of seeds of black gram variety, PU-31, were distributed among the farmers.<br \/>\nThe KVK&#8217;s Agriculture Engineer Rakesh Salam spoke on the importance of conserving water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARSINGSA, Aug 8: Forty livestock service providers (LSP) from Doimukh, Yachuli and Kimin blocks participated in a training programme on &#8216;scientific rearing and management of swine&#8217; organized by the North East Development Agency (NEDA) in collaboration with the Papum Pare KVK here on Thursday.
