{"id":78058,"date":"2019-09-07T02:35:03","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T21:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=78058"},"modified":"2019-09-07T02:35:03","modified_gmt":"2019-09-06T21:05:03","slug":"rggp-other-institutes-celebrate-teachers-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/09\/07\/rggp-other-institutes-celebrate-teachers-day\/","title":{"rendered":"RGGP, other institutes celebrate Teachers&#8217; Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Sep 6:<\/strong> Teachers&#8217; Day was celebrated with much gaiety at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (RGGP) here on Thursday, in a function organised by the Students&#8217; Union of RGGP, led by its general secretary Lishi Paki.<br \/>\nAddressing the programme, RGGP Principal AK Tripathy, who lit the lamp in honour of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, quoted Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, who once famously said, &#8220;One book, one pen, one teacher and one student can change the world.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe principal asked the teachers and the students to work as a team to achieve success.<br \/>\nThe students presented a cultural programme and expressed their love and gratitude to the teachers. Trophies and cash prizes were handed over to the winners of the Principal&#8217;s Rolling Trophy &#8211; a mixed badminton tournament among the faculty members and staffers.<br \/>\nIn Changlang, Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte and DC RK Sharma attended the Teachers&#8217; Day celebration held at the multipurpose community hall, in honour of the teachers of the Changlang North assembly constituency.<br \/>\nThe DC in his address advised the teachers to keep themselves updated, and to take on added responsibilities in nurturing students whose parents and guardians are illiterate.<br \/>\nExpressing concern over the poor academic performance in the district, Sharma asked the teachers to &#8220;apply child psychology to mould the children.&#8221; The DC also urged the teachers and the students to stay away from menaces like drugs, alcohol, etc. He later felicitated teachers whose retirement is due in the current year.<br \/>\nThe Ramakrishna Mission School (RKMS) in West Siang HQ Aalo celebrated Teachers&#8217; Day at its higher secondary, secondary and primary sections separately.<br \/>\nIn the function at the higher secondary school&#8217;s conference hall, SP Jummar Basar urged the students and teachers to &#8220;uphold the age-old teacher-student relationship to maintain the institution&#8217;s status as the pioneer in the field of education.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe lauded the efforts of the monks and the teachers of the RKMS for bringing excellent academic results every year. At the secondary school, DIPRO Gijum Tali spoke on the importance of a good academic foundation in the children&#8217;s formative years.<br \/>\nDance presentations, speeches and presentation of gifts to teachers were the other highlights of the programme.
