ITANAGAR, Sep 9:<\/strong> Pinky Karki, Tania Yasap, Taring Yania and Laa Yajum entered into the women’s singles semifinals in the 7th Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship-2019 here on Monday.
\nWhile Karki defeated Tayo Ana of Lower Subansiri 21-8, 21-8, Yasap beat Boni Yupu of Kamle 21-19, 21-17, Yania beat Choklom Niji of Changlang 21-2, 21-7 and Yajum defeated Biri Onja of Kra Daadi 21-5, 21-4 to reach the semifinals.
\nIn the women’ doubles, Karki pairing with Yania of ASBA defeated Ngurang Opi and Ibi Zirdo Rumi of Papum Pare 21-06, 21-02 to advance to the semifinals.
\nThe pairs of Leeta Mele-Nani Ankha of Lohit, Kapu Rumi-Tania Yasap, Boni Yupu-Laa Yajum also advanced to the women’s doubles semifinals.
\nWhile Mele and Ankha defeated the duo of Mepung Pangia and T Kayum of ASBA 21-11, 21-10, Rumi and Yasap of ASBA beat the pair of Biri Onja and Byabang Limu of Kra Daadi 21-11, 21-03. Yupu and Yajum of Kamle defeated Binpi Lendo and Kenpi Karga of Capital Complex 21-9, 21-13 to enter the semifinals.
\nIn the boys’ single U-9, Dindo Linggi of Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) defeated Limar Lollen of West Siang 21-11, 21-18, Dopum Neri of East Kameng defeated Licha Polu of Kurung Kumey 21-17, 21-17, Ligam Angu of Papum Pare defeated Joram Tado of Kamle 21-16, 21-16, and Pramod Joshi of Kurung Kumey defeated Nani Rabing of ASBA 21-5, 21-6 and entered the semifinals.
\nIn the girls’ U-9 singles, Laa Nanu of Kamle and Jessica Saring of ASBA reached the final.
\nWhile Nanu beat Morin Bassar of ASBA 21-19, 21-12, Saring beat Bamang Anam of Changlang 21-12, 21-3.
\nIn the boys’ single (U-11), Samuel Tamang of Kurung Kumey and Taku Manku of ASBA reached the final.
\nTamang beat Licha Gumsh of Papum Pare 21-12, 21-7, and Manku defeated Gunveer Gongo of Kurung Kumey 21-19, 21-14.
\nIn the boys’ double (U-11) semifinals, Gunveer Gongo and Samuel Tamang defeated Aslam Alam and Tushar Malik of Lohit 21-01, 21-06, and Licha Gumsh and Nabam Oken of Papum Pare defeated the pair of Dindo Linggi and Laji Mega of LDV 21-13, 21-10 to reach the final.
\nIn the boys’ singles (U-13) semifinals, Pakli Bagra of Kurung Kumey defeated Nabam Isaac of Papum Pare 21-06, 19-21, 21-11, and Geson Potom of Kurung Kumey defeated Taku Manku 21-14, 21-07 to reach the final.
\nIn the girls’ singles (U-13) semifinals, Jamba Waii of East Kameng defeated Khoda Punya of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) 21-13, 21-10, and Beryl Saring of ASBA defeated Sonam Chotten of West Kameng 21-11, 21-14 to reach the final.
\nIn the boys’ doubles (U-13) quarterfinals, Geson Potom and Pakli Bagra beat Giogo Tajmal and Ralbom Ratom of Changlang 21-02, 21-04, Khyoda Manku and Taku Manku defeated the duo of Nelik Payum and Rito Kaye of SLSA 21-13, 21-10, Aji Linggi and Jeelo Linggi of LDV defeated Genden Norgey and Nikhil Rai of Papum Pare 21-11, 21-06, and Ngali Yomgam and Yitum Gamkak of West Siang defeated Chau S Manloong and Nima Lama of Namsai 21-18, 21-12, and advanced to the semifinals, according to the organizing committee.
