{"id":78624,"date":"2019-09-12T01:28:47","date_gmt":"2019-09-11T19:58:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=78624"},"modified":"2019-09-12T01:28:47","modified_gmt":"2019-09-11T19:58:47","slug":"dk-memorial-state-badminton-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/09\/12\/dk-memorial-state-badminton-championship\/","title":{"rendered":"DK Memorial State Badminton Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Karki and Tukum win women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s singles titles<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Sep 11:<\/strong> Pinky Karki and Laa Tukum won the women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s singles titles in the 7th Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship, which concluded at the Raj Bhawan Badminton hall here on Wednesday.<br \/>\nTop seed Pinky Karki defeated No. 2 seed Laa Yajum in straight 21-10 and 21-18 sets to clinch the title.<br \/>\nTania Yasap and Taring Yania won the bronzes in the category.<br \/>\nSixth seed Laa Tukum of Kamle beat Nikhil Chettri in straight 21-8 and 21-6 to bag the title and gold medal. The bronzes in the men&#8217;s singles went to Charu Jaji and David Ngomle.<br \/>\nThe men&#8217;s doubles, Akshay Raito and Raja Gupta, representing ASBA retained their title defeating Rahul Thapa and Charu Jaji 21-19, 17-21, 21-18 to win the gold medal.<br \/>\nThe pairs of Asif Khan-Bikom Boje and Kenjom Tacha -Raj Thapa settled for the bronze medals.<br \/>\nIn the mixed doubles, Charu Jaji pairing with Pinky Karki defeated Kenjom Tacha and Taring Yania to win the gold medal.<br \/>\nThe bronze medal in this category was won by Rahul Thapa and his partner Tania Yasap and the pair of Biki Lakai and Laa Yajum.<br \/>\nIn the women&#8217;s doubles, Pinky pairing with Yania won the title for the third consecutive year defeating Boni Yupu and Laa Yajum in the finals.<br \/>\nLeeta Mele and Nani Ankha representing Lohit district and Kapu Rumi and Tania Yasap of ASBA won the bronze medal in this category.<br \/>\nIn the boys&#8217; U-11 singles, Samuel Tamang defeated Taku Manku in straight 21-15 and 24-21 to win the gold as well to retain his No.1 rank.<br \/>\nIn the boys singles (U-19) Laa Tukum won the gold defeating Sonam Tamang. Chau Kiyon Manpang of Namsai and Esoumi Molo of Dibang Valley won the bronze.<br \/>\nIn the women&#8217;s singles (U-19) Nisha Upadhyaya won the gold defeating Gunzan Gongo of Kurung Kumey. Kapu Rumi and Taring Yapi won bronze medals.<br \/>\nThe pair of Raj Thapa and Takio Puna won the mixed doubles titles in U-19 category. They defeated the pair of Pakli Bagra and Gunzan Gongo of Kurung Kumey.<br \/>\nLobsang Rapten and Norbu Chotton of Tawang and the pair of Changha Siyang and Taring Yapi representing Papum Pare district were the bronze medalists.<br \/>\nThe boys&#8217; U-17 singles title was won by Nikhil Chetry beating Robin Laa of Kamle.<br \/>\nLobsang Sherdang and Kayin Doming were the bronze medal winners.<br \/>\nNikhil pairing with Kirto Nyorak also won the boys&#8217; U-17 doubles gold. They defeated Iran Gamkak and Yai Gamkak of West Siang in the final.<br \/>\nChangha Siyang and Tana Radhe of Papum Pare and Aho Mikhu and Uku Linggi of Lower Dibang Valley were the bronze medal winners.<br \/>\nDolma Tamang defeated Kenbi Riram to win the girls&#8217; U-17 singles title while Gunzan Gongo from Kurung Kumey and Montilly Pul of Sangey Laden Sports Academy (SLSA) were the bronze medal winners.<br \/>\nDolma also won the gold medal in the U-15 category defeating Taku Neha in the finals.<br \/>\nThe bronze medal in this category was won by Napi Tayam and Montilly Pul.<br \/>\nKenbi pairing with Nisha Upadhyaya won the girls&#8217; doubles gold after defeating Napi Tayam and Taku Neha in the finals.<br \/>\nThe bronze medals in this category went to Kesang Pema Kome and Norbu Chotton of Tawang and Chukhu Marta and Tayo Rini of Lower Subansiri.<br \/>\nIn the boys&#8217; U-15 singles, Laa Robin defeat Lobsang Sherdang of Tawang to win the gold medal.<br \/>\nDai Weshi of East Kameng and Lobsang Choidrup of Tawang were the bronze medalists.<br \/>\nChoidrup, however, pairing with Sherdangm won the boys&#8217; U-15 doubles gold.
