{"id":7905,"date":"2017-11-08T01:02:33","date_gmt":"2017-11-07T19:32:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=7905"},"modified":"2017-11-08T01:02:33","modified_gmt":"2017-11-07T19:32:33","slug":"rgus-uni-fest-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/11\/08\/rgus-uni-fest-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"RGU&#8217;s Uni-fest begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RONO HILLS, NOV 7:<\/strong> The XVIIIth Uni-fest of the Rajiv Gandhi University commenced here on Tuesday in a spectacular note amidst a gathering of student, faculties and staffs.<br \/>\nAttending the inaugural event, All Arunachal Pradesh Students&#8217; Union (AAPSU) President Hawa Bagang encouraged the students to be pragmatic, maintain practicality and focus on studies.<br \/>\nHe said, &#8220;Only politicians are not to be blamed for any unaccomplished aspirations of the society because every individual, from bureaucrats, technocrats, and students to the common public, has a role to play for the development of the state and nation as a whole.&#8221;<br \/>\nAddressing the students, AAPSU General Secretary Tobom Dai said, &#8220;Uni-fest is a very attractive programme, yet a source of distraction from academic performances.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe also encouraged the students to embrace their cultural identity with pride.<br \/>\nVice Chancellor of RGU, Professor Tamo Mibang spoke about the changes RGU has undergone from 1974 till the present time and how the number of departments came into existence.<br \/>\nThe University festival or popularly known as Uni-fest is conducted annually by the Students&#8217; Union of RGU in order to harness the skills of students at every field.<br \/>\nVarious competitions such as sports, track and field, literary and cultural events will be organized during the three days event.<br \/>\nEarlier, the students participated in a mega welcome dance representing the different tribes of the state in a single show dance symbolizing unity in strength.
