{"id":79257,"date":"2019-09-18T02:14:18","date_gmt":"2019-09-17T20:44:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=79257"},"modified":"2019-09-18T02:14:18","modified_gmt":"2019-09-17T20:44:18","slug":"aimf-conducts-music-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/09\/18\/aimf-conducts-music-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"AIMF conducts music workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>CHIMPU, Sep 17:<\/strong> Members of the Arunachal Independent Musicians Forum (AIMF) &#8211; Haggai, Samuel, Takar, Bikram, Teji, Boby, Dambi, Liyir, Carolina and Sonny &#8211; put together a &#8216;brunch session&#8217;, followed by a music workshop for the children of the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Visually and Hearing Impaired here on 15 September.<br \/>\nThe voluntary initiative, which was warmly received by the school&#8217;s teachers and students, featured musical performances by the kids and the AIMF artists, followed by a music workshop covering the basic fundamentals of music, such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and different styles of music.<br \/>\nThere was also a surprise appearance by the Dancing Devils. They were a major sensation for the kids, especially for those with hearing disability. The entire hall was enthralled by the flexibility and the finesse with which the dancers performed.<br \/>\n&#8220;It was a heart-touching moment for us to see them smile,&#8221; said Haggai, a studio producer by profession.<br \/>\n&#8220;I just couldn&#8217;t contain my emotions. It was so satisfying to see the kids enjoy the performances. It was the toughest thing to say goodbye to them,&#8221; said Samuel, an artist.<br \/>\n&#8220;It was very challenging to find a common ground for the visually impaired and those with hearing disability, to even make them connect to the fundamentals of rhythm in music,&#8221; said Teji, also an artist.<br \/>\nArtists, well-wishers and the Erkis&#8217; Sound contributed to the initiative.<br \/>\nThe AIMF is a forum of independent artists from Arunachal. It&#8217;s core vision is to make music reach the grassroots level through workshops and live performances.
