{"id":7931,"date":"2017-11-09T00:07:01","date_gmt":"2017-11-08T18:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=7931"},"modified":"2017-11-09T00:07:01","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T18:37:01","slug":"drug-awareness-campaigns-at-pasighat-itanagar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/11\/09\/drug-awareness-campaigns-at-pasighat-itanagar\/","title":{"rendered":"Drug awareness campaigns at Pasighat &#038; Itanagar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Correspondent <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>PASIGHAT\/ ITANAGAR, Nov 8:<\/strong> The Mishmi Welfare Society, in collaboration with the Bramhakumari&#8217;s World Spiritual University and local partners, District Tobacco Control Cell and Population Based Cancer Registry and Women against Social Evils conducted a daylong de-addiction awareness campaign at Pasighat IGJ Government Higher Secondary School on Tuesday.<br \/>\nExperts from the National Coordinator of &#8216;My India, Addiction Free India&#8217;, Dr Sachin Parab from Mumbai said that the growing youths of Arunachal Pradesh are fast becoming prey to narcotics drugs, like tobacco, opium and even psychotropic drugs, which is in turn posing a social menace to the future generations.<br \/>\nDiscussing on various themes- mind brain addiction, de-addiction, &#8216;My Arunachal Addiction Free Arunachal&#8217;, Dr Sachin urged the young students to shun the detrimental practices and cautioned that it would ruin their valuable future.<br \/>\nThe medical experts in the meeting explained how the addicted youths can be treated and gradually recovered from the grip of drugs intake. They also suggested parents to keep strict vigil on the movement of their children.<br \/>\nAt Itanagar, a similar drugs and tobacco awareness campaign was organized on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College by the Mishmi Welfare Society and Brahmakumaris World Spiritual University, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Yupia, Population Based Cancer Registry and National Tobacco Control Programme.<br \/>\nDr Sachin Parab, Project Director of the Global Initiative of Tobacco Awareness and National Coordinator of &#8216;My India, Addiction Free India&#8217; campaign called upon to the faculty members, staff and students to pledge for an addiction-free Arunachal.<br \/>\nDistrict and Sessions Judge Western Division, Yupia, J Chai spoke in details about compensation for accidents, rape victims, fire victims, etc. She also told about legal clinics which provide free legal services to the people.<br \/>\nAdvocate Mopi Ete dwelt about consequences of drug trafficking and various strict laws to deal with drug traffickers, while Dr Sopia Tawsik Chairman of the Mishmi Welfare Society, Dr AK Tripathy principal RGGP also spoke on the occasion.<br \/>\nLater, the participants also took a pledge against drug usage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent PASIGHAT\/ ITANAGAR, Nov 8: The Mishmi Welfare Society, in collaboration with the Bramhakumari&#8217;s World Spiritual University and local partners, District Tobacco Control Cell and Population Based Cancer Registry and Women against Social Evils conducted a daylong de-addiction awareness campaign at Pasighat IGJ Government Higher Secondary School on Tuesday.
