Lego has appealed to the students to avoid drugs\/tobacco and other ill habits to lead a healthy and productive life.<br \/>\nNarrating his life story, he said, &#8220;if you have will power no one can force you to become an addict.&#8221;<br \/>\nIn his key note address, Dr. Sachin Parab, Project Director, Global Initiative for Tobacco Awareness (GITA) and National Coordinator My India Addiction Free India Campaign from Mumbai advised the students to stay away from any kind narcotic substances including drugs and tobacco.<br \/>\nCiting the alarming opium production in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh, he stressed on the need to take immediate steps to control the menace. More than 3500 people die every day due to tobacco use, he said.<br \/>\nArunachal Law Academy (ALA), Assistant Professor, Mopi Ete<br \/>\nspoke on legal aspects on drugs and NDPS Act.<br \/>\nAmong others, Mishmi Welfare Society (MWS) chairman, Dr. Sopai Tawsik, State Nodal Officer, Narcotics, Oli Koyu and Brahmakumaris World Spiritual University faculty and Professor Jayadeva Sahoo also spoke on the occasion.<br \/>\nThe camp was organized by MWS, Itanagar and Brahmakumari&#8217;s World Spiritual University in collaboration with Legal Services Authority, Yupia, Population Based Cancer Registry (PBCR), Naharlagun and National Tobacco Control Programme, Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Nov 9: A drug awareness programme was held for the school students at Government Higher Secondary School here on Wednesday.
