{"id":80103,"date":"2019-09-29T02:30:49","date_gmt":"2019-09-28T21:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=80103"},"modified":"2019-09-29T02:30:49","modified_gmt":"2019-09-28T21:00:49","slug":"chf-dean-bats-for-beekeeping-mushroom-cultivation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/09\/29\/chf-dean-bats-for-beekeeping-mushroom-cultivation\/","title":{"rendered":"CHF dean bats for beekeeping, mushroom cultivation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PASIGHAT, Sep 28:<\/strong> Dean of the College of Horticulture &amp; Forestry (CHF) here in East Siang district, Prof BN Hazarika, advocated scientific beekeeping and mushroom cultivation to double the farmers&#8217; income by 2022.<br \/>\n&#8220;The technical know-how and skills required for scientific beekeeping will be imparted to the farmers by the experts from the CHF,&#8221; the dean said during a &#8216;training-cum-awareness programme on scientific beekeeping&#8217; and a &#8216;field day on mushroom&#8217; which were conducted for the farmers and beekeepers of Miglung village on Saturday.<br \/>\nProf DB Ahuja of the CHF&#8217;s entomology department highlighted the present scenario of the bee industry in the country and its prospects in the NE region.<br \/>\nDr RC Shakywar from the All India Coordinated Research Project on Mushroom imparted hands-on training to the participants on mushroom cultivation, spawns, and value addition.<br \/>\nThe extraction methods for honey, and ways to process and store honey were demonstrated by KVK scientist Toge Riba.<br \/>\nSponsored by the National Bee Board, the programme was organized by the CHF.
