{"id":80451,"date":"2019-10-02T01:37:13","date_gmt":"2019-10-01T20:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=80451"},"modified":"2019-10-02T01:37:13","modified_gmt":"2019-10-01T20:07:13","slug":"gov-urges-stakeholders-to-make-trihms-as-most-sought-after-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/10\/02\/gov-urges-stakeholders-to-make-trihms-as-most-sought-after-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov urges stakeholders to make TRIHMS as most sought after college"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAHARLAGUN, Oct 1:<\/strong> Governor BD Mishra participated in the &#8216;International Day for Elderly people&#8217; here at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) on Tuesday.<br \/>\nHe distributed wheelchairs, walking aids and blankets to physically-challenged people and senior citizens, sponsored by Anya Ratan, chairperson of the Oju Welfare Association and Minoti Riba, wife of former Chief Minister late Tomo Riba.<br \/>\nSpeaking on the occasion, the governor complimented the Oju Welfare Association and Minoti Riba for the gesture, adding that &#8220;it is the duty of every citizen to take care of their elders.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe also exhorted on the participants to pledge not to abandon their elders nor allow any elder to be disowned.<br \/>\nInteracting with the students and teaching faculty of the TRIHMS, the governor said, &#8220;the profession of medicine is a noble one. The involvement and commitment of the doctors and nursing staff towards their patients is very important. They must work with the motto &#8216;service and honesty to profession&#8217; and rise to the expectation of their patients.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe governor urged upon all stakeholders to put in a concerted effort to make TRIHMS the most sought after medical college in the country, and suggested making it a good research centre.<br \/>\nHe also shared his concerns regarding assault on doctors and nursing staff and said that &#8220;with more awareness, it will decrease. Notwithstanding that an Act for the safety and security of the doctors has been promulgated by our government.&#8221;<br \/>\nEarlier, TRIHMS Director Dr Moji Jini briefed the governor regarding the challenges of the medical college.<br \/>\nThe &#8216;International Day for Elderly people&#8217; was organized by NCD Clinic TRIHMS and Arunachal Pradesh State Health Society, Naharlagun (National Health Mission).
