{"id":80770,"date":"2019-10-05T00:41:04","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T19:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=80770"},"modified":"2019-10-05T00:41:04","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T19:11:04","slug":"fedn-seeks-removal-of-footbridges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/10\/05\/fedn-seeks-removal-of-footbridges\/","title":{"rendered":"Fedn seeks removal of footbridges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Oct 4:<\/strong> The All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation has urged the state government to remove the footbridges over the highway from Naharlagun to Itanagar, saying they serve no purpose and instead &#8220;are occupying parking and footpath spaces.&#8221;<br \/>\nIn a representation to the chief secretary, the federation on Friday said the footbridges have become &#8220;a hotspot for illegal banner advertisements and sheds for hawkers and beggars.&#8221;<br \/>\nIt claimed that the idea of constructing the footbridges was &#8220;more of a self-benefit scheme of the Itanagar municipal council (IMC) and of some money-minded people who had no future plans,&#8221; adding that the footbridges were a waste of government funds.<br \/>\nThe federation also claimed that the IMC did not consult any government department, &#8220;be it the public works or the highway,&#8221; before executing the work.
